Updating to the latest version of an iolo technologies product

This article applies to:
  • All iolo products

System Mechanic 6 and System Mechanic 6 Professional

  1. Open System Mechanic by double-clicking on its desktop icon.
  2. Click the Update button located on the lower left edge of the System Mechanic dashboard.
  3. Allow the update detection, download, and installation process to complete.
  4. Restart your computer as prompted.

System Mechanic 7 and System Mechanic 7 Professional

  1. Open System Mechanic by double-clicking on its desktop icon.
  2. Scroll down to the Updates panel located on the bottom right of the System Mechanic dashboard. This panel will inform you if System Mechanic is up-to-date.
  3. Cick the Check for updates link
  4. Allow the update detection, download, and installation process to complete.
  5. Restart your computer as prompted.

System Mechanic 8/9 and System Mechanic 8/9 Professional

  1. Open System Mechanic by double-clicking on its desktop icon.
  2. From the main System Mechanic interface, click Help>Check for Product Updates
  3. Allow the update detection, download, and installation process to complete.
  4. Restart your computer as prompted.

Search and Recover 4

  1. Open Search and Recover by double-clicking on its desktop icon.
  2. Click the Updates button located on the right hand side of the Search and Recover main menu.
  3. Allow the update detection, download, and installation process to complete.
  4. Restart your computer as prompted.

Search and Recover 5

  1. Open Search and Recover by double-clicking on its desktop icon.
  2. From the main Search and Recover interface, click Help>Check for Product Updates.
  3. Allow the update detection, download, and installation process to complete.
  4. Restart your computer as prompted.

DriveScrubber 3

  1. Open DriveScrubber by double-clicking on its desktop icon.
  2. Click the Updates button located on the right hand side of the DriveScrubber main menu.
  3. Allow the update detection, download, and installation process to complete.
  4. Restart your computer as prompted.

All other products

All iolo technologies products can be updated by either using their built-in update detection mechanisms or by downloading and installing directly from the iolo technologies download center.

Note that whether you are using a trial version or have a licensed copy, the installation file is the same and is designed to recognize and react accordingly to any licenses that already exist on your PC.

  1. Locate and download the latest version of your product using the iolo technologies download center.

    Note: Make sure to save the installation file to your desktop or another convenient location in case you want to use it again in the future.
  2. Start the installation update process by double-clicking the saved installation file. Allow the installation procedure to finish.
  3. Restart your computer as prompted.
