Question

How do I use the System Mechanic 6 Process Manager tool to create and view a running process report?

Answer

The System Mechanic Process Manager allows you to create and save a report of the running processes on your computer so that you may view or send that information as desired. This feature allows you to conveniently manage and/or track processes running on your computer as well as share such information with others.

Note: Creation and viewing of the process reports are only available directly through System Mechanic. If you wish to send the report to another party, System Mechanic will need to be installed in order for the report to be read properly.

In order to begin working with the Process Manager report tool, you will need to first open the System Mechanic Process Manager:

1.       Open System Mechanic by double-clicking on its desktop icon.

2.       From the System Mechanic dashboard, click the Optimize button.

3.       On the Optimization Tools menu, click the Manage Running Programs link.

4.       The Process Manager will open and populate with a list of programs/processes that are currently running on your computer.

To create or save a new process report:

1.       Click Tools button the main toolbar.

2.       Click Save Report on the drop down menu.

3.       Name the file appropriately and click Save.

4.       You will now have a *.pmrpt (where * is the file name) file saved on your computer. You may distribute or access this file as needed.

To open or view a Process Report:

1.       Click Tools button the main toolbar.

2.       Click Open Report on the drop down menu.

3.       Browse to the location of the save report file.

4.       Highlight the file and click Open.

Note: To close out of the report view, click Switch to Live Mode in the upper right hand corner. This will return you to the normal Process Manager screen.
