Question

How can I exclude items from being removed by tools in System Mechanic?

Answer

When you select the Advanced>Custom Cleanup mode in many of System Mechanic's tools you will be presented with a list of found items that have been marked for removal. If there is an item you would like to exclude from current and future scans, follow these steps:

  1. From the Removal screen of your tool expand the file group containing the item you would like to exclude.
  2. Locate the item you would like to exclude and right-click to bring up exclusion options.
  3. If you would like to exclude the entire folder where the item was found from future searches select Exclude folders from future searches. If you would like to exclude only that file from searches, select Exclude from future searches.
  4. Once you have excluded the files or folders you wish to save, continue with removal by clicking Remove>Remove Selected.
