How do I send a System Mechanic setup log file to iolo technologies’ Customer Care?

Answer

Windows XP Home and Professional

  1. Navigate to the folder location C:\Documents and Settings\[Account_Name]\Local Settings\Temp where [Account_Name] is the name of the user account on which the iolo product was installed.
  2. Locate any files with names similar to the following example: Setup Log 2008-04-03 #001.txt. More than one file may exist (i.e. Setup Log 2008-05-03 #002, Setup Log 2008-06-04 #003, etc.)
  3. Send all of these files as an attachment to your case email.


Windows Vista (All versions)

  1. Navigate to the folder location C:\Users\[Account_Name]\AppData\Local\Temp where [Account_Name] is the name of the user account on which the iolo product was installed.
  2. Locate any files with names similar to the following example: Setup Log 2008-04-03 #001.txt. More than one file may exist (i.e. Setup Log 2008-05-03 #002, Setup Log 2008-06-04 #003, etc.)
  3. Send all of these files in an attachment to your case email.


Note:
 If the installation of your iolo product fails, the Setup Log files will still be available.
