See the Firewall Odometer pane on the top, right side of the Home page.
The Firewall Odometer pane shows the communication attempts that iolo Personal Firewall has blocked. These attempts are categorized by various date groupings and by types (ports, programs, and attacks blocked).
This can be useful for quick analysis and troubleshooting: you can see prior activity for the past day, past week, or past minute, or go back as far as the day you installed the firewall.
The pane also contains the View event history link; click the link to view a more detailed history of Internet communication.
The following information displays in the pane:
Threats Blocked. Shows the number of ports, programs, and attacks that have been blocked on the current day (Today), in the current week (This week), and in the current month (This month).
Since Date and time of last reset. Shows the threats that have been blocked since the day and time you last reset the count. The threats are listed by the number of ports, programs, and attacks blocked.
Initially, the date and time shown in the header are the same as the installation date/time, but once you click Reset, the heading shows the current date and time.
Click Reset to restart the count from zero.
Note: Clicking Reset also resets the "Today" count in the Threats Blocked section (described above) and the "Since Date and time of last reset" statistics on the Recent Firewall Events window.
Since install (Date of install). Shows the threats that have been blocked since you installed iolo Personal Firewall. The threats are listed by the number of ports, programs, and attacks blocked.
To view detailed logs of all communication to and from your computer, click View event history to open the Recent Firewall Events window.
Note: On startup, the pane initially displays expanded and shows all the detail. You can toggle between hiding and showing this detail.
To hide/collapse the details in the pane:
Click the dash (—) icon at the top of the pane. The pane collapses (and the icon changes to a box).
To show/expand the details in the pane:
Click the box ( ¨ ) icon at the top of the pane. The pane expands (and the icon changes to a dash).
