After selecting the location, the second screen allows you to configure the scanning options.
You may select none, one, or both of the scanning options:
Use SmartScan® technology to improve search results
Perform sector-level search using StrongScan® technology (significantly increases search time)
Note:
If you are searching by a physical
device, a StrongScan search is required and automatically selected
by default.
If you select neither option, a "standard" scan will be done. All files and folders will be searched (unlike with SmartScan) and files will be searched for at a higher, less comprehensive level than the sector-level search used by StrongScan.
Click Next. Search and Recover begins the search on the third screen.
