The Home page displays when you first open Search and Recover and when you close a Search and Recover tool.
The sections and links on the Home page are briefly described below; click a link to go to more detailed instructions for each tool.
Recover Deleted Files. Recover files of any type.
Recover Deleted Pictures & Movies. Recover pictures and movie files.
Recover Deleted Songs & Sounds. Recover song, sound, and music files.
Recovered Deleted Emails. Recover email messages.
Perform TotalRecovery. Recover the contents of entire drive. Use this tool when all of the data on a drive or folder has been deleted.
The Advanced Disk Tools section provides links to tools that allow you to create and manage drive images and search for lost partitions.
Make a Copy of a Drive or Disk. Copy the entire contents of a drive into a drive image.
Create a Virtual Drive. Create a virtual drive (a single file that, when mounted, simulates a physical drive on your computer).
Manage Drive Images. Access all of the tools and information you need to create, edit, and manage your drive images and virtual drives.
Search for Lost or Damaged Partitions. Search for and then mount a lost partition.
The Service Status section shows the status of your product service and how much time remains.
To extend your service, click Add Time Now. A page on iolo's web site will open, providing you more details on your existing service and allowing to securely purchase an extension.

The File Terminator section allows you to enable or disable the File Terminator. When enabled, the ability to securely delete files and folders is integrated into your Windows operating system.
The menu bar contains the following options:
Options. Opens the Search and Recover Options window, which allows you to change various default settings in Search and Recover.
Help. Opens the Help menu, which offers access to the in-product help you're currently reading, software downloads and download settings, and your licensing information.
Note: Task-specific help is also available within each window and tool; look for the Help button on the bottom of the screen.
The title bar offers the following standard Windows buttons:
Minimize. Click the dash (—) to reduce the window to a button on your taskbar.
Maximize/Restore. Click the single square to fill the screen with the window. Click the double square to restore the window to its previous size.
Exit. Click the X to close Search and Recover.
Note: You can also move and re-size the window with standard dragging operations.
Drive Image Service allows you to quickly mount and unmount drive images/virtual drives and provides access to the Manage Drive Images window.
The Drive Image Service application is integrated into Search and Recover, but it runs separately. It remains accessible from your system tray even when the Search and Recover application is closed.
The File Rescue wizard runs directly from the Search and Recover installation CD and is for an emergency recovery of files.
* Requires a 32-bit operating system and is currently not available for 64-bit systems.
