Since previewing large images can take time, Search and Recover allows you to set the maximum size for selected files to be automatically previewed. Files over that size will not automatically preview.

Note: Files over that size will still be able to be previewed on a case-by-case basis, by clicking Generate preview on the Search Results screen.

The types of files that are affected by this setting are pictures and photos.

 

As a default, the Maximize size for automatic image preview check box is selected, causing images over the specified size (200 KB) to not automatically preview.

To set/change the maximum size for automatic  preview:

1. Select the check box.

2. In the field, the default value is 200 KB. You can type in a new value or click the up/down arrows to change the value.

To disable the maximize setting so that image size is disregarded:

Clear the check box. All selected images will automatically preview, regardless of size.

You can set whether you want the left pane of the Media view to display thumbnails of image files. Displaying thumbnails can slow loading time.

 

The types of files that are affected by this setting are pictures and photos.

 

As a default, the Generate thumbnails in Media view check box is selected, and thumbnail images display on the left side of the Viewer.

• To turn off the automatic generation, clear the check box. Images files will display with a large icon (like non-image files).

• To turn on the automatic generation, select the check box. Image files will display with a thumbnail.
