The number of times that files and folders are overwritten increases security, by decreasing the chance that the data can be found by sophisticated recovery methods.

 

The default value to overwrite terminated files is one (1) time. You can type in a new value or click the up/down arrows to change the value. The maximum value you can enter is 100.

With the File Terminator enabled, the ability to terminate files is integrated into your Windows operating system. You can right-click on any folder or file through Windows, and click Terminate from the drop-down menu to securely delete it.

 

Caution!  Files that are terminated cannot be recovered.

 

As a default, the Enable File Terminator context menu in Windows check box is cleared, and the option is not in your right-click menu.

• Select the check box to enable the File Terminator. Terminate will be an option in your right-click menu.

• Clear the check box to disable the File Terminator. Terminate will not be an option in your right-click menu.
