This topic applies to the Recover Deleted Files, Recover Deleted Pictures and Movies, and Recover Deleted Songs and Sounds wizards.

 

You can terminate deleted files found by Search and Recover. This is useful if you see a sensitive file that you thought was deleted, but actually still exists.

caution.gif Caution! Files that are terminated cannot be recovered.

To terminate a file:

  1. From the Search Results screen, select the file or files that you want to terminate.

  1. Click Terminate.

  1. Click Yes on the Confirm window.

letter.gif Note: For multiple files, a File Termination Progress window displays, showing the progress of the termination. (You can click Cancel if you want to halt the process.)

The files are permanently deleted and will no longer display on the Search Results screen.
