Search & Recover: Rescue your deleted Files

Number 1-selling PC Tune-up software maker offers emergency rescue for deleted treasures

LOS ANGELES, CA — June 2, 2008 — As more and more people exclusively use PCs to maintain their most valuable documents, including family photos and video, extensive music collections, even crucial work files, the risks posed by accidental data deletion can represent a true personal catastrophe. What’s worse, many people who lose files aren’t aware that readily available, easy-to-use software exists that can instantly restore precious documents and irreplaceable digital photos they feared were gone forever.

To prevent this frustrating, yet reversible data loss from imperiling users’ important files, iolo technologies announced today the release of a new, even easier-to-use version of its top-selling Search and Recover™ software, which allows even non-expert users to quickly recover accidentally deleted files even years after the data was lost.

iolo Director of Product Management Kraig Lane explains the impetus for the announcement, “I was watching the news recently and there was a discussion related to the enormous cost associated with replacing an accidentally deleted music collection stored on a PC. I realized that the people discussing the story weren’t aware that simple to use software exists which can easily retrieve deleted music, files, photos and more. I think it’s important that more people are told about Search and Recover, an inexpensive product that can easily prevent the loss of up to tens of thousands of dollars of lost music for someone with a sizeable collection.”

Lane says even though Search and Recover is already the number one selling data rescue software, he realized that non-experts, who make up the largest portion of PC users, often aren’t aware such recovery software exists, leading to the unnecessary loss of countless dollars worth of music and personal files. Sometimes, he says, the stakes are even higher.

“We heard from one Search and Recover customer who used the product to rescue irreplaceable photos of his late father that he’d accidentally deleted from his digital camera. If he hadn’t known about the product and used it to recover the pictures it would have been a tragic loss.”

This latest version of Search and Recover offers users several new features, including improved recovery algorithms, which rescue even more lost files than previous versions. Other features include expanded file-type and media support, making recovery of specific file types, such as music, video, photo, or work files more efficient. Search and Recover 5 also offers a new interface, giving even the least-expert user more control over the recovery process, even from cameras, and flash, USB, FireWire, and thumb drives.

Search and Recover 5 is available in Staples, OfficeMax, Fry’s, Amazon and online at Buy.com, as well as on the iolo technologies website, www.iolo.com. It’s also available as part of iolo’s System Mechanic Professional® software suite, which includes security must-haves iolo AntiVirus™ and Personal Firewall™, plus military-strength secure file deletion utility DriveScrubber®, as well as iolo’s award-winning System Mechanic®, the top selling PC tune-up software, which can reverse even years of system-clogging damage to bring computers back to like-new performance.
