iolo Turns Ten: From Humble Beginnings to International Success
Dear iolo Customers and Friends,
This year, iolo is celebrating its 10-year anniversary. Ten years is quite a milestone and it's remarkable how far we've come.
When I founded iolo technologies, I started with a tiny, 700-square foot office, one employee, and a firm belief that hard work would pay off in the end. Ten years later, iolo is now a worldwide leader in the software industry, with a product line that has received hundreds of industry honors, is carried in over 18,000 storefronts in a competitive global marketplace, and includes THE top-selling PC tune-up software - System Mechanic.
The evolution of iolo
I still remember programming that first version of System Mechanic back in 1998; continuously designing, testing, and fine-tuning methods to get better performance out of my own PC. I also remember the positive reaction from our first customers; your feedback was both personally rewarding for me and critical to our initial success.
From the beginning, I built iolo slowly and reinvested the profits into engineering and research. All technology was developed in-house and the company had one focus: to keep PCs running like new. Ideas were plentiful, and we were excited every time we had an opportunity to bring unique concepts to consumers. I'm proud to have helped create a corporate culture that rewards courage and imagination; iolo has never hesitated to be first to market with new ideas, and our customers have come recognize us as a provider of cutting-edge products, not just replicas of the current software.
Groundbreaking product - System Mechanic
System Mechanic's unique and comprehensive approach to PC tune-up emerged early as a favorite of both technology enthusiasts and beginning PC users. With each new version, the software has grown in popularity, to the point where System Mechanic is now used by over 21 million people and is carried in tens of thousands of stores worldwide.
System Mechanic became the best-selling PC tune-up product in the United States and Canada in 2007, and today it continues to hold this top position and lead sales nearly everywhere it has been introduced.
Built on 10 years of innovation
Even after all these years in the industry, iolo's drive and focus remain determined - we're not resting on our laurels. We are continuing to research and advance our product innovations with the goal of not only resolving the latest issues affecting consumers, but keeping ahead of emerging issues that affect PC performance.
For expansion of our long-term planning, we recently brought on board several top industry veterans. The same people who led pioneering versions of Norton Utilities®, Fix-It Utilities™, and First Aid™ have decided to merge their decades of expertise with iolo's creativity, vision, and technical acumen.
