System Mechanic - Now 64-bit Compatible! The rise of 64-bit systems

Earlier this year, relatively few consumers were buying 64-bit systems. That situation has changed dramatically in the recent months. In fact, if you walk into a retail store these days, the only PCs for sale you’re likely to see are going to be 64-bit.

So it’s safe to assume that if you're buying a new computer this holiday season, you're likely going to end up with a 64-bit version of Windows Vista. While 64-bit systems offer better memory use and potentially improved performance, it can cause problems with incompatible applications – and many software programs have not yet offered 64-bit compatibility.

System Mechanic - First to the market with 64-bit compatibility

iolo wanted to be the first to give users what they need to keep their new 64-bit PCs functioning in top condition. This week, we launched System Mechanic 8.5, the first comprehensive PC tune-up product compatible with all the new 64-bit systems on the market. And because System Mechanic 8.5 retains its compatibility with 32-bit platforms, you can continue to tune-up your existing computers, too.

iolo technologies has been at the helm of the PC tune-up industry for over 10 years. During that time, System Mechanic was repeatedly the first to unveil new features and technical innovations. In 2002, it was officially endorsed by the Microsoft Designed for Windows XP Logo program. In 2006, it became one of the first software programs to have Windows Vista compatibility. And now in 2008, System Mechanic leads the industry with its 64-bit compatibility.

How do I get it?

System Mechanic 8.5 is now available for purchase or download, and if you have a current subscription, you’ve already received an automatic update. System Mechanic 8.5 can be installed on up to three 32-bit or 64-bit machines.
