Internet Security Firewall
Under Internet Security on the navigation bar, click Firewall.
The Firewall pane provides access to Windows Firewall. For users without Windows Firewall, the pane provides information about the status of your firewall protection.
A firewall puts up a barrier against hackers and other intruders, but allows the Internet access that you do want. Staying informed about the status of your firewall protection is essential to safe computing.
You can view the status of your protection, click Enable or Disable to turn the firewall on or off, and run the following functions from the Open Windows Firewall button (click the arrow on the button to view drop-down options):
Click Open Windows Firewall to open the Windows Firewall program and view or change settings.
Click Refresh firewall status to have System Mechanic check the status again.
Click Turn off firewall monitoring to disable System Mechanic's firewall monitoring. (To re-enable monitoring, click Turn on firewall monitoring from the Options button.)
You can view the status of your protection and run the following functions from the Options button:
Click View more information to read more about internet security software or access related information in this help system.
Click Refresh firewall status to have System Mechanic check the status again.
Click Turn off firewall monitoring to disable System Mechanic's firewall monitoring. (To re-enable monitoring, click Turn on firewall monitoring.)
iolo Personal Firewall is integrated for seamless updates and configurations. You can view a snapshot of the status, open the program, and quickly access commonly used functions.
To open the program in a new window, click Open iolo Personal Firewall. (If the program was shut down, click Start iolo Personal Firewall.)
To have System Mechanic check the status again, click the arrow on the Open iolo Personal Firewall/Start iolo Personal Firewall button, and then click Refresh firewall status.
