Problems: Core Data Recalibrator

To access:

The Core Data Recalibrator is only accessible from the Problems pane when corruption or conflicts are detected within the Windows communication infrastructure. To fix the conflicts click Repair next to the entry.

What it does:

The Core Data Recalibrator repairs conflicts and corruption within Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI).

Why use it:

Modern versions of Windows depend on a communication infrastructure called Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) that allows software and hardware to exchange critical information. Corruption within the WMI can manifest as unreliable and unpredictable computer behavior that is difficult to diagnose. Core Data Recalibrator detects and automatically repairs these problems before they can destabilize the system.

Instructions:

  1. Perform a Quick or Deep analysis from the Overview screen.

  2. Click View Problems.

  3. Under Problems, locate the following entry, "Your computer has [X] core data conflicts within the Windows communication infrastructure".

Note: The entry will only appear if corruption is detected.

  4. Click the corresponding Repair button, then click Yes on the prompt that follows to begin repairs.

  5. A Summary of actions performed will appear.  Click Close to close the tool and return to System Mechanic.
