Add Items in My Network

The Add Items in My Network window shows the computers that are in networks your computer also belongs to. From this window, you can add individual computers or an entire network to the Trusted Zone.

Open the Add Items in My Network window. The window displays all the computers found in networks that are connected to your computer. The following details display:
Computer Name. The name of the computer.
IP Address. The IP address of the computer.
Workgroup. The name of the network.
Zone. The Zone that the computer belongs to. Either Trusted Zone or Internet Zone displays. Any computer that has not been assigned to a Zone is automatically a member of the Internet Zone.

Select a single computer or select multiple computers:

You can click on a single computer to highlight it. This computer will be controlled by the links in the Tasks for This Computer pane.
You can select multiple computers by clicking the check boxes . These computers will be controlled by the links in the General Tasks pane.

Note: To select all the computers shown, click Select all from the General Tasks pane. To clear all check box selections, click Select none.

To add a computer or group of computers to the Trusted Zone:
For a single computer highlighted , click Trust this computer, or to add all the computers that are in the same network as the highlighted computer, click Trust network name.
For single or multiple computers selected , click Trust selected.

To remove a computer or group of computers from the Trusted Zone:

Note: Any computer that has not been assigned to the Trusted Zone is automatically a member of the Internet Zone.

For a single computer highlighted , click Don't trust this computer. If in step 3 above you trusted the entire network, the option will allow you to remove the entire network from the Trusted Zone: click Don't trust network name.
For single or multiple computers selected , click Don't trust selected.

Click Save to save your changes and close the window; click Cancel to close the window without saving.

You will return to the Manage Zone Members window. Any computers added to the Trusted Zone will display, with a type of "IP Address" or "IP Range" (for computers in a contiguous range). The description field will show the computer name or the network name.

Note: Since any computer that is not a member of the Trusted Zone is automatically in the Internet Zone, computers that were added to the Internet Zone from this window will not display on the Manage Zone Members window.

You can always see any computers that have defaulted to the Internet Zone or that you added to the Internet Zone by opening the Add Items in My Network window.
