Overview of Measure Internet Download Speed wizard
The last screen shows the results of the download test.
Current results are compared to previous results. A percentage increase or decrease displays, to help you see if any recent configurations have affected your download speed.
Results are also divided into peak and average speed:
Average Speed. The average speed is computed by averaging the data received every second over the download elapsed time.
Peak Speed. Peak speed is the fastest recorded amount of data that came through to your PC over a one-second period. Peak speeds are usually higher than average speeds because a connection cannot maintain the peak transmission speed for very long.
When you are finished viewing the results, you can do one of the following:
Click Perform another test; you will return to the first screen of the Measure Internet Download Speed wizard.
If System Mechanic detects that your Internet settings are not optimized, an Optimize Internet configuration link will display. Click the link to open the Optimize Internet Speed wizard.
Click Exit on the bottom of the screen to return to the Home page.
Click the Close icon (X) at the top of the screen to close System Mechanic.
