Overview of Remove Installed Programs wizard
The Uninstall screen initially shows the progress of the search. You can click Cancel to stop the process.
The screen displays an incremental progress bar with the percentage of processing complete, lists the files currently being processed, and provides an estimated completion time.
When the search is finished, the screen displays the detected files and allows you to run the uninstallation and removal of files.
Click an Item Category on the left to display the applicable data on the right.
Note: A category will not display any contents if you did not select the corresponding Scope on the Options screen.
Files and Folders. Displays the specified application main executable file and any associated files and folders.
Registry Items. Displays all registry entries that reference the application and components.
Shortcuts. Displays all shortcuts that reference the application and components.
Configuration. Displays all references to the specified application and its components within system configuration files (.ini and .bat files).
You mark the files you want to uninstall by selecting their check boxes. You can do this in one of several ways:
Select the one or more check boxes next to each item.
Make one of the following selections from the Edit menu:
Mark selected item for removal. Selects the check box for the selected item, which marks it for uninstallation.
Unmark selected item. Clears the check box for the selected item.
Mark all items in this category for removal. Selects the check box for all items in the current category.
Unmark all items in this category. Clears the check box for all items in the current category.
Mark all items in all categories for removal. Selects the check box for all items, in all categories.
Unmark all items in all categories. Clears the check box for all items, in all categories.
From the Options menu, you can click Automatically unmark items contained within unmarked locations. This could be useful when you unmark a folder and want all of its contents to also be automatically unmarked, instead of you manually finding and unmarking them individually.
With the desired items marked, click Remove and then click one of the below menu options:
Remove marked items in this section. Uninstalls and removes all the marked items in the current category.
Remove all marked items in all sections. Uninstalls and removes all the marked items in all categories.
You can view additional information for a selected file from the Tools menu, or by right-clicking on the entry. Both will open a menu of Tools options.
These options open windows with additional file or folder information The exact options that are available differ for each category.
When you are finished, you can do one of the following:
Click Exit on the bottom of the screen to return to the Home page.
Click the Close icon (X) at the top of the screen to close System Mechanic.
