Overview of Find and Remove Junk Files wizard
On the first screen of the Find and Remove Junk Files wizard, select a mode.
With the automatic modes, System Mechanic automatically removes the files known to be useless, based on known pattern types. For the advanced custom mode, you specify what areas should be searched, and then you decide which file types you want to remove.
With the automatic modes, System Mechanic automatically remove junk files. The two options differ in what drives are searched.
Quick Clean. Scans Windows temporary folders and removes the junk files.
Deep Clean. Scans all drives and folders and removes the junk files.
To have System Mechanic provide an estimate of how much drive space can be freed by a cleanup, click Analyze. When the analysis is completed, the estimated amount replaces the Analyze link.
Click Options to open the Automatic Cleanup Options window. This window allows you to set up an preemptive analysis and designate how removed files should be handled.
If you select one of the automatic modes, click Next to run the search.
For the Custom Cleanup mode, you designate what areas to search. The junk files that System Mechanic detects will be displayed, and then you decide which ones you want to remove. You can also further define what you consider to be "junk" files in this mode.
If you select the custom mode, click Next to designate the criteria.
