On the last screen, the wizard removes the selected debris and junk files. (If you want to cancel the process, click Cancel.)

 

When the process is completed or cancelled, the results display:

• Items Removed. The number of junk files removed.

• Space Freed. The amount of drive space freed by running the cleanup.

With the Custom mode, the junk files detected will display. You decide which ones you want to remove.

View information

Results are grouped by file location. Click on the plus sign to expand a group and view its applicable junk files. To expand all groups, from the Tools menu, click Expand all. (Click Collapse all to close all the groups.)

 

Totals display across the bottom of the screen. As you select or clear items to delete, you can see how much drive space can be freed.

 

The following Tools menu options allow you to view and access information related to each item.

• Open containing folder. Opens a Windows Explorer window, showing the folder that contains the file.

• Properties. Opens a standard Properties window that shows file's properties.

Sort Results

You can sort results by various attributes: Name, size, type, location, and the dates created, modified, and accessed.

 

Click Sort by and choose the desired menu option.

Make selections

You can designate the items you want to work with in one of several ways:

• Click on the one or more rows to  select  them. You can select multiple files or folders as you normally would in Windows, using the CTRL and SHIFT keys.

• Select the one or more check boxes next to each item.

Remove

To delete a single selection, right-click and then click Remove.

 

To delete an entire group, click Remove Group.

 

To delete items you have selected or checked, click one of the below Remove menu options:

• Remove selected. Remove all  selected  items.

• Remove checked. Remove all checked items.

• Remove all. Remove all items.

• Removal method. From the Remove menu, click Removal method and then select one of the options:

• Delete. Delete the files. (It will not be in the Recycle Bin.)

• Move to Recycle Bin. Send the files to the Windows Recycle Bin.

• Move to Incinerator. Send the files to the Desktop File Incinerator.

• Incinerate Immediately. Permanently delete the files using the Desktop File Incinerator (it cannot be recovered).

Exclude items from future searches

If a file or folder that you would like to keep has been detected as junk file, you can exclude it from later runs of the wizard.

• To exclude file results from later searches, select or check the one or more files and from the Tools menu, click Exclude filename from future searches.

• To exclude folder results from later searches, select or check the one or more folder and from the Tools menu, click Exclude folder from future searches.
