This screen displays the software redundancies that can impact performance and stability, and then you decide which programs you want to keep or remove.
The list of redundant programs found are organized by category, which are groupings based on the types of function the programs perform.
Each category displays the following:
Description: A short explanation of the purpose and functions of the programs in the category.
Performance and Stability impact rating: A quantified representation of the impact that having multiple programs installed can have on your PC. The ratings range from 0-5, where 5 indicates a severe impact and 0 indicates a minimal impact.
Each program displays the following:
Program name: The name of the program
Publisher: The creator or distributor of the program
Date installed: The date the program was installed on your PC.
Approximate size: The size of the program as reported by the publisher.
User community results: The tendency of other System Mechanic users to keep or uninstall the program. (More on user community results)
Note: One program can appear in more than one category; for example, a utility program with multiple functions may be shown in both the "Registry cleaners" and "Disk defragmenters" categories.
For each program shown, either mark it as one that you use, uninstall it, or take no action at this time.
Keep a program. For each program that you use and want to keep, click I use it. The program will be added to your Preferred Programs List. (To remove a program from the Preferred Programs List, click Undo.)
Uninstall a program. For each program you want to uninstall, click Uninstall it and then click Yes on the confirmation prompt. The uninstallation tool that came with the program will launch; follow the instructions provided in the tool to complete the uninstallation.
Decide later. If you're not sure whether you want to keep or remove a program, click Decide later. This allows you to proceed with the wizard without making a decision at this time.
Once you've completed Step 2 and have taken an action for each redundant program, a confirmation message will display: "All potential redundancies have been resolved."
Click Proceed to summary to complete the wizard and view results.
