The Select Actions screen allows you to designate which repairs and optimizations PC Accelerator performs.
The functions available to you depend on whether or not a system analysis has recently been run:
If there has not been a recent analysis, you will see an "A system analysis needs to be performed" message; No recent analysis performed below provides instruction.
If there has been a recent analysis, you will see a list of actions; Action list based on analysis results below provides instruction.
Note: Based on the analysis, PC Accelerator can run using recommended actions and you do not have to make selections. To use the default actions, simply click Next to start the repairs and optimizations on the Optimize screen.
If a system analysis has not been recently performed, you can either:
Run an analysis. Click either Perform Quick Analysis or Perform Deep Analysis. When the analysis completes, the screen will display actions, as described in Action list based on analysis results below.
Skip the analysis and run the actions you specify. Click Let me choose which actions to perform. All of the available PC Accelerator actions will display. To help you decide which ones you want to run, detailed descriptions are provided; see View details about actions for instruction.
Select the check box next to each desired action and then click Next to start the repairs and optimizations.
System Mechanic suggests recommended actions based on the last system analysis.
Note: If a deep analysis has not been run, a Reanalyze link allows you to do so.
You can view information about each action and then select the ones you want. If you want PC Accelerator to run using its default recommended selections, you can simply click Next to start the repairs and optimizations on the Optimize screen.
To help you decide which actions you want to run, click on an action to show the following details:
A general explanation of the problem the action can resolve.
The date the selected action was last done (or "Never Performed" will display).
Many actions will also display related statistics specific to your computer. For example, for the "Optimize Windows Startup" action, the number of dangerous or unnecessary startup items will display.
Select the check box next to each action you want to run. To the right of each action is an estimated time for how long it will take. Using information from the last analysis, actions are grouped as follows:
Recommended Actions. These are actions determined to be essential to improving your computer's performance and speed. By default, all recommended actions are selected, but you can clear selections as desired.
Optional Actions. These actions are not as vital as the recommended actions, but may still improve your computer's performance and speed. Select optional actions as desired.
Once you've made your selections, click Next. On the Optimize screen, PC Accelerator runs the selected repairs and optimizations.
