Driver Updates Found

Overview of Designated Drivers

This screen displays a list of driver updates available for your PC's hardware devices, and then you decide which updates to download and install.

Step 1: View information

The Update Summary provides a list of all driver updates found and basic details for each.

For each driver update listed some or all of the following information is displayed:

• Update Found - The driver name.

• Device Type - The category of the device being updated, such as disk drive, monitor, or network adapter.

• Manufacturer - The manufacturer of the device driver, such as Intel, or Canon.

• Date - The date the driver update was published.

• Update Priority - A suggested level of importance for the update. The three levels are: Low, Normal, and High.

• Size - The amount of drive space the driver update will occupy.

To display extended details for any update listed, click the corresponding Details link.

Step 2: Decide which driver updates to download and install, or hide.

There are three possible actions to take for each driver update listed:

• Install a driver update - Select the corresponding check box .

• Do not install a driver update - Clear the corresponding check box .

• Hide a driver update - Click the corresponding Details link, then select Hide this driver update in the future. This driver update will no longer appear in the Update Summary and will never be downloaded or installed.

   

  Note: To show the driver update again, click the Reset button from the Designated Drivers Introduction screen.

Step 3: Proceed

Once you've completed Step 2, click Next to download and install the selected driver updates.
