Overview of Block Unwanted System Changes window
When enabled, Startup Guard controls whether specified programs can be added to the Windows startup process.
To enable Startup Guard, select the Enable Startup Guard check box.
Note: For a program that you do not explicitly block or allow, an alert will display if there is an attempt to include the program in startup.
Programs you add to the Blocked List cannot be added to the startup process.
To begin, click Edit Blocked List.
Add programs to the list. Click Add and then type in or browse to the executable file name and location. Common examples of executable file name extensions are .EXE, .BAT, and .BIN.
Edit programs on the list. Select the program you want to edit and click Edit. Edit the executable file name or location as needed.
Remove program from the list. Select the program you want to remove from the Blocked List and click Remove.
Programs you add to the Allowed List can be added to the startup process.
To begin, click Edit Allowed List.
Add programs to the list. Click Add and then type in or browse to the executable file name and location. Common examples of executable file name extensions are .EXE, .BAT, .COM, and .BIN.
Edit programs on the list. Select the program you want to edit and click Edit. Edit the executable file name or location as needed.
Remove program from the list. Select the program you want to remove from the Allowed List and click Remove.
