Overview of All Zone Security Options
The Custom security level lets you create your own settings to control Internet and network traffic.
Prior to making any changes, the initial Custom settings within the Internet Zone will be Medium and within the Trusted Zone will be Low.
On the Edit Custom Level Settings window, you can change the settings.
On the Viewing: Custom Level Settings window, settings are read-only and cannot be changed.
Both windows have the following tabs (click on a tab name for details):
Defined Ports. Determine which standard ports are open to incoming or outgoing traffic.
Custom Ports. For additional ports that you specify, determine which ones are open to incoming or outgoing traffic.
Attacks. View a list of the known attacks that are blocked. (You can temporarily turn off the block for troubleshooting.)
IntelliDefense. When enabled, you can determine the access for each IntelliDefense classification. You also have the option of disabling IntelliDefense.
General. Determine various settings, including default program permissions, broadcast/multicast protocols, and IGMP protocols..
Columns on each tab are resizable, sortable, and movable.
Note: When editing, make sure you click Save to save your changes.
You can copy settings from any of the preset levels. This is time-saving if you want to use a setup that is similar to a preset levels, but has a few options set differently. Any custom ports you have set up are not overridden.
Click Copy settings from another level and then click on one of the following from the pop-up menu:
Copy Low Level settings
Copy Medium Level settings
Copy High Level settings
Click Yes on the Warning window and then all tabs will be updated with the settings from the selected preset level. You can then make additional changes as desired.
Make sure you click Save on the tab to save your changes.
