The System Mechanic Defragmentation Report is available after running (or canceling) a defragmentation, and it:
Compares the current fragmentation levels to the levels prior to running the defragmentation.
Shows any files that were not defragmented (due to being locked or in use) and allows you to schedule those files to be defragmented the next time your start or restart your computer.
The Report is divided as follows:
Click the heading to show or hide a graphical representation of the current file fragmentation.
Click the heading to show or hide a graphical representation of the file fragmentation prior to running the defragmentation.
Click Show files to view a list of any files that were not defragmented, because they were locked or in use. If desired, you can schedule these files to be defragmented the next time your start or restart your computer.
Select or check the files you want to be defragmented at the next restart.
Click one of the options from the Schedule menu:
Defragment [File name]. Schedules the selected file for defragmentation.
Defragment selected. Schedules all checked files for defragmentation.
The files will be defragmented the next time you start or restart your computer.
Note: If you want to schedule these files to be defragmented every time you restart your computer, files designated here will display on the Configure Boot-time Defragmentation window, on either the Custom List tab or the System Files tab (depending on the type of file).
Once you have scheduled files for defragmentation, an [X] files will be defragmented at restart section will display at the bottom of the report. This section allows to review the files you have selected for defragmentation and cancel the process, if desired.
If the section is not expanded, click Show files.
Select or check the files you want to cancel the defragmentation for.
Click one of the options from the Remove menu:
[File name]. Cancels the defragmentation for the selected file.
Selected. Cancels the defragmentation for all checked files.
The files will be removed from the defragmentation schedule and will not be defragmented the next time you start or restart your computer.
Click Close to close the report and return to the Defragmentation Summary screen.
