Overview of Defragment Hard Drive wizard
The Defragmenting Selected Drives screen initially shows the progress of the defragmentation, including:
A real-time graphical presentation of the defragmentation in progress.
An incremental progress bar with the percentage of processing complete.
You can click Pause to temporarily halt the process (click Resume to restart), or click Cancel to stop the process (click Start Over to restart from the first screen of the wizard).
When the defragmentation has completed (or been canceled), the screen displays a snapshot of the results, including:
The number of files defragmented.
The cumulative size of files defragmented.
The number of file fragments eliminated.
To view more information, click Generate detailed report. You can view the previous fragmentation compared to the current, see any files that were not defragmented (due to being locked or in use), and schedule those files to be defragmented the next time your start or restart your computer. Refer to System Mechanic Defragmentation Report for detailed instruction.
When you are finished, you can do one of the following:
Click Exit on the bottom of the screen to return to the Home page.
Click the Close icon (X) at the top of the screen to close System Mechanic.
