From the Individual Tools pane, click Maximize Performance and then click Start next to Defragment Hard Drive.
The Defragment Hard Drive wizard guides you through defragmenting selected hard drives with the settings you specify.
Defragmenting hard drives reorganizes scattered data, which boosts file access speed and extends the life of the drive. To maintain system performance and prevent data corruption, it is recommended that you periodically defragment your hard drive.

To have System Mechanic automatically defragment drives when fragmentation is detected as being high, enable Automatically repair drive fragmentation problems on the Automated Tasks pane.
