Overview of Block Unwanted System Changes window
When enabled, Process Guard controls whether certain programs and processes can run.
To enable Process Guard, select the Enable Process Guard check box.
If you want a program to be automatically prevented from running or executing, add it to the Blocked Processes list.
If you want a program to be automatically allowed to run or execute, add it to the Allowed Processes list.
For programs and processes that you do not explicitly block or allow, you have the option of using the IntelliDefense feature to control executable files based on their threat assessment.
Programs you add to the Blocked Processes list will automatically be blocked from running

For programs and processes that are not explicitly Blocked or Allowed, the IntelliDefense® feature can automatically block them from running based on their threat assessment.
iolo maintains a regularly updated database of information about thousands of programs and program components. When a program attempts to execute, IntelliDefense can use this database and its threat-evaluation process to determine a classification for the program.
You can set up Process Guard to automatically block programs that are in the following IntelliDefense categories:
Unnecessary. Installed, safe applications that are not required to perform core functions, and provide functionality that is not needed by most users.
Dangerous. Viruses and other software that has been identified as malicious and dangerous by iolo's research team.
Note: Programs and processes classified into other categories are not controlled by Process Guard. The other IntelliDefense categories are: System (core components of the Windows operating system); Necessary (safe applications that perform core functionality); and Optional (safe applications that may be desired but are not required to perform core functionality.)
To enable this feature, select the Use IntelliDefense check box and then select one or both of the following check boxes:
Automatically block Dangerous programs from running. Programs and processes classified as "Dangerous" will be automatically prevented from executing.
Automatically block Unnecessary programs from running. Programs and processes classified as "Unnecessary" will be automatically prevented from executing.
