Configure System Shield Settings window

Preferences tab

The Preferences tab allows you to change settings for the System Shield Alerter.

Click a field name below for instructions; to the right of each field name is a brief description of the functionality.

Start System Shield Alerter when the computer starts As a default, the System Shield Alerter starts every time you start or restart your computer. This is recommended for secure protection. To have the Alerter not start automatically, clear the check box. To have the Alerter start automatically, select the check box.	As a default, the System Shield Alerter starts when you start or restart your computer. You can turn this feature on or off.
Show status icon in the system tray As a default, the System Shield Alerter icon displays in your system tray. To remove the icon from system tray, clear the check box. To display the icon in your system tray, select the check box.	As a default, the System Shield Alerter icon displays in your system tray. You can turn this feature on or off.
Show progress during virus and spyware definition updates As a default, the System Shield Alerter displays a progress window when virus and spyware definitions are being downloaded. To hide the progress window, clear the check box. To show the progress window, select the check box.	As a default, the System Shield Alerter displays a progress window when virus and spyware definitions are being downloaded. You can turn this feature on or off.
