System Shield: Configure System Shield Settings

To access:

From the Individual Tools pane, click Enhance Protection and then click Start next to Configure System Shield Settings.

      - OR-

From the Anti-malware pane, select the Protection tab and then click Settings.

What it does:

The Configure System Shield Settings window allows you to designate what is included or excluded in the various scanning tools and to change default settings for downloading updates and displaying the System Shield Alerter icon.

Jump to descriptions of each tab:

• Real-time. Configure real-time protection settings.

• Email. Configure email protection settings.

• On-demand. Configure on-demand scanning settings.

• Updates. Configure settings for downloading virus and spyware definition updates.

• Preferences. Configure settings for the System Shield Alerter.

Buttons on the window:

• Click Save to save and apply your changes and close the window. If you close the window without clicking Save, any changes you made will not apply.

• Click Cancel to disregard any changes made and close the window.

• Click Help to open this help system.

• Click Restore Defaults to restore all of the default settings. This applies to all tabs.
