Overview of Repair Hard Drive Problems wizard
On the first screen of the Repair Hard Drive Problems wizard, select a mode.
With the automatic modes, System Mechanic will automatically schedule repairs for any detected drive errors (repairs are run prior to booting).
Quick Search and Repair. Searches hard drives for errors using a standard scan. Any detected errors will be automatically scheduled for repair the next time you start or restart your computer.
Complete Search and Repair. Searches hard drives for errors with a surface scan. Any detected errors will be automatically scheduled for repair the next time you start or restart your computer.
Click Options to open the Automatic Options window. This window allows you to select certain hard drives for testing.
If you select one of the Automatic modes, click Next to run the search and repair.
The Custom Search and Repair mode allows you to designate the following:
What hard drives to test.
Whether or not the search for errors will include a surface scan.
Whether or not errors will be automatically scheduled for repair.
If you select the Custom mode, click Next to designate options.
