Registry Backup: Back Up or Restore Registry

To access:

From the Individual Tools pane, click Enhance Protection and then click Start next to Back Up or Restore Registry.

What it does:

The Back Up or Restore Registry window allows you to back up the Windows registry and restore it if it ever becomes damaged. We recommend that you back up the registry a minimum of every two weeks.

Why use it:

The registry is vital to your computer's ability to run correctly. Regular backups of the registry are recommended in case you ever need to restore its vital settings.
