From the Individual Tools pane, click Enhance Protection and then click Start next to Manage System Shield Quarantine.
- OR-
From the Anti-malware pane, select the Disinfection tab and then click Manage System Shield Quarantine.
The System Shield Quarantine is a safe holding area that gives you control over suspicious files. The Quarantine prevents possible infections from spreading or causing damage, while still allowing you to restore the files you know are safe.
Note: A quarantined file cannot function or infect any other files; as long as a file is stored in Quarantine, it does not pose a threat.
The Quarantine window displays the files that System Shield has quarantined as suspicious or infectious. A file is placed in Quarantine if System Shield determines it to be infectious or suspicious, and the settings are configured to place such files in Quarantine.
You can view information about these suspect files and either restore or purge them. You should:
Purge a file if you suspect or know the file is unsafe. The file will be permanently deleted.
Restore a file only if you are sure the file is safe. The file will be removed from Quarantine and returned to its original location, without being disinfected.
For each file in quarantine, the following information displays on the right side of the window:
File: The location and file name of the infected file.
Infection: The name of the virus/infection that was detected.
Type: The type of infection, such as virus, spyware, or Trojan.
Quarantined On: The date and time the file was placed into Quarantine.
Discovered By: Either Real-time Protection or On-Demand Scanner.
