System Shield: System Shield Quarantine

To access:

From the Individual Tools pane, click Enhance Protection and then click Start next to Manage System Shield Quarantine.

      - OR-

From the Anti-malware pane, select the Disinfection tab and then click Manage System Shield Quarantine.

What it does:

The System Shield Quarantine is a safe holding area that gives you control over suspicious files. The Quarantine prevents possible infections from spreading or causing damage, while still allowing you to restore the files you know are safe.

Note: A quarantined file cannot function or infect any other files; as long as a file is stored in Quarantine, it does not pose a threat.   

 

The Quarantine window displays the files that System Shield has quarantined as suspicious or infectious. A file is placed in Quarantine if System Shield determines it to be infectious or suspicious, and the settings are configured to place such files in Quarantine.

 

You can view information about these suspect files and either restore or purge them. You should:

For each file in quarantine, the following information displays on the right side of the window:

 

Columns are resizable, sortable, and movable.

 

Purge or restore a file:

  1. On the right side of the window, select the file or files you want to work with:

Note: To select all the files shown, click Select all from the General Tasks pane. To clear all check box selections, click Select none.

  1. On the left side of the window, select the desired action:

  2. For a single file  highlighted , click Restore this file or Purge this file.

  3. For single or multiple files selected , click Restore selected or Purge selected
