Overview of Block Unwanted System Changes window
The Configure System Guard tab allows you to enable System Guard and change various settings that apply to multiple System Guard tools.
Once enabled, the other three tabs display, allowing you to configure the applicable settings for each tool. The below topics provide instructions on configuring each of the three System Guard tools:
To enable and start System Guard, click Enable System Guard. System Guard will be turned on and will start automatically whenever you start or restart your PC.
If you have System Guard enabled but turned off the protection from the System Guard icon, click Start System Guard to re-enable the protection.
To disable System Guard, click Disable System Guard. You will need to restart your computer for the change to take effect.
Select the Show System Guard icon in the system tray to display an icon in your system tray.
This icon allows you to control alerts for Startup Guard and Browser Guard and to disable the System Guard protection. See System Guard Icon for more information.
Where alerts are generated in Startup Guard or Browser Guard, System Guard will automatically respond if you do not respond within a certain period of time.
In the Automatic Timeout Response section, set the following:
Select the default action you want System Guard to take: either Allow change to proceed or Prevent change from proceeding.
In the Automatically respond after [X] seconds field, designate the amount of time you want prompts to display before System Guard automatically responds.
You can enter from 10 to 120 seconds.
