System Mechanic 16.5 Pro® Beta Release Notes

The following are issues iolo engineers have identified and resolved in version 16.5.2.116:

  • Opera browser cache files are not getting deleted
  • Registry issues remain on the Dashboard after repair
  • System Shield® tray icon is missing in system tray despite real-time protection being enabled
  • Search and Recover gets stuck at “Total Progress 100%”
  • General application crashes/instability
  • LiveBoost’s power saving tool IdleDown is not functioning as intended
  • Clicking on “Add Time Now” from the Dashboard Hint results in automatic closing of System Mechanic
  • Clicking “Start Over” in the Internet Cleanup wizard results in “select all” being checked but the sub-tools are not selected
  • Installer issue: iolo Governor (LiveBoost) has multiple instances running after installing
  • ActiveCare® runs despite being turned off
  • ActiveCare “scheduled task” opens the full application
  • DriveScrubber® not functioning properly in Windows 7
  • Recover action (Search and Recover) in Windows 10 fails to recover any files
  • Real-time protection is enabled for both Malwarebytes and System Shield, causing low system memory and difficulty completing System Analysis from the Dashboard
  • After a full scan with found quarantined items, clicking “View Quarantine” within the Anti-Malware screen fails to display quarantined items
  • Expiration date appears on a recurring license
  • On the Quarantine page, column names do not scroll with their rows when using the horizontal scroll bar
  • Cannot save System Shield exclusions
  • The Anti-Malware screen remains in a green state when “Real-Time Protection” is off but all other conditions are in a critical state
  • System Shield does not initiate a scan and application automatically shuts down
  • Incinerator does not incinerate items with 0 bytes
  • “Restart Scan” action fails after initiating a scan
  • Analyze button is still enabled when zero tests are selected within individual tools
  • Cancelling Recover action in Search and Recover results in a black screen
  • Search and Recover crashes during scan for deleted file(s)

The following are known issues iolo engineers are currently resolving:

  • During uninstall the iolo system tray process fails to evacuate
  • “Periodically display informational desktop messages” setting is not being retained when upgrading to a later version of System Mechanic
  • NetBooster tool experiencing conflicts with latest Windows 10 update
  • System Mechanic fails to detect active third-party firewalls within the Firewall tool
  • System Analysis resets after system reboot
  • “Clean Selected” button remains active when zero issues are selected in individual tools
  • Security Optimizer allows clicking of “Optimize selected” button when nothing is selected

What is iolo's Whole Home License?

The Whole Home License® is iolo’s licensing policy that allows you to install and keep your software running on all of your compatible devices within the same home. Previously, users were allowed to install and license their iolo software simultaneously on a maximum of three PCs. Under the Whole Home License, a single activation key allows you to use your iolo software on all of your PCs, other than any PCs you use for business purposes. What you need to know about Whole Home Licensing

  • You, your spouse, and your relatives living within the same household may use the same license on any number of PCs that you own which are not used for business.

To install your iolo product on additional PCs:

  1. On the additional computer, download the latest version of your iolo product. Choose from the list of downloads offered here.
  2. Follow the steps in the installation wizard, and enter the same Activation Key that you used to install on your original computer.

You can view the Activation Key on the original computer from within System Mechanic > red menu bar > key icon > Activation Key.
