DriveScrubber: Official Secure Data Removal Tool

The nation’s leading educational nonprofit receives even more PC donations and offers donors complete peace of mind with iolo’s award-winning secure data removal software

LOS ANGELES, CA – January 04, 2012 – CFY, the nation’s largest leader in harnessing
digital learning to improve educational success, has named iolo
technologies’ DriveScrubber its official secure data removal tool.

CFY is a national 501(c) (3) nonprofit
organization that helps students in low-income communities, together
with their teachers and families, harness the power of digital learning
to improve educational outcomes. During the 2010-11 school year alone, CFY has served more than 17,000
families and 500+ teachers in over 100 schools in seven school districts
nationwide.

“We’ve seen first-hand how iolo technologies’ DriveScrubber data removal technology securely deletes personal information from donated computers,” says Mark Malaspina, president of CFY. “DriveScrubber is an important data security tool for CFY as we work with technology donors to develop specific plans to address their data concerns. By leveraging these donations, CFY arms low-income families with the technology, software, and training they need to help their children succeed in school and beyond.”

DriveScrubber, the #1 best-selling secure data removal software
according to NPD, uses military-approved methods for securely removing
files and data from hard drives and other storage devices. It offers
various levels of data removal, ranging from a quick one-pass method
that protects against basic data recovery tools, to more sophisticated
methods that exceed U.S. Department of Defense standards and protect
against advanced electron-microscopy recovery techniques.

“CFY’s national educational efforts are critical in bringing a rich
array of learning opportunities into the homes and classrooms of
underserved students,” says JJ Schoch, VP of marketing at iolo
technologies. “With this donation, we are making sure that potential
donors can make their computer donations to CFY without having to worry
about the safety of their personal data.”

iolo technologies is engaged in a wide-ranging charitable and
environmental campaign, focusing on facilitating computer donations to
materials reuse organizations through DriveScrubber, its award-winning
secure data removal software, and helping nonprofit organizations make
the most of their computers with System Mechanic. The company donates
thousands of copies of its software annually to a broad range of local,
national, and global charitable organizations.
