iolo technologies Celebrates Annual “Clean Out Your Computer Day”

Performance optimization leader offers useful tips and effective software to help keep computers running clean and fast

Los Angeles, CA – February 11, 2013 – iolo technologies, recognized globally as the leading source for innovative computer optimization solutions, is celebrating the annual Clean Out Your Computer Day today. Originally sponsored by the Institute for Business Technology and in existence since at least 2000, Clean Out Your Computer Day was conceived as an opportunity to remember to clean up PCs, get rid of old and unused files, and maintain computer systems at maximum performance and efficiency.

According to the Consumer Electronics Association, the average American adult has 1,800 personal digital files. Other studies show the frustration and emotional impact, as well as business inefficiencies, caused by slower technology. Psychological research shows the negative impact of clutter – digital or otherwise – on people’s lives, as increasing amounts of time are wasted sifting through and managing growing hoards of disparate information. This year, iolo is offering a list of simple clean up tips to help the PC user community reduce time wasted as a result of digital disorganization and productivity impediments.

“Whether using computers at home or in a work environment, everyone has at some point experienced frustration with slow PCs,” said JJ Schoch, VP of marketing, iolo technologies. “It can be a challenge to remember to routinely clean out your computer – that’s why we feel having a day dedicated to maintaining your computer is so important. More importantly, an easy-to-use and fully automated software solution like System Mechanic does all of the work for you, not just one day out of the year, but every day.”

The multiple and current recipient of PC Magazine’s Editor’s Choice award for performance optimization software, iolo estimates that System Mechanic has been used by more than 45 million people to keep nearly 80 million computers in optimal condition since 1998. With more than 50 integrated tools, easy-to-use interface and patented ActiveCare® automatic maintenance technology, System Mechanic keeps Windows 8, 7, Vista and XP machines in optimal condition.
