iolo technologies Donates Award-winning System Mechanic to Pilgrim Place and RPJ Housing

Community program centers benefit from improved PC performance with iolo’s System Mechanic

LOS ANGELES, CA – Mar 29, 2011 – iolo technologies, named the fastest-growing company in the U.S. by the American Business Awards in both 2010 and 2009, today announced a donation of more than 400 copies of award-winning System Mechanic to Pilgrim Place in Claremont, CA and RPJ Housing in Alexandria, VA.

Licensed by the State of California as a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC), Claremont’s Pilgrim Place is a senior community for those called to careers in religious and charitable non-profit organizations who wish to reside in an intellectually stimulating, ecologically sensitive, personally active environment. Since 1915, it has been a home to thousands of people and currently houses more than 320 residents.

“iolo’s donation of System Mechanic for all the residents was greeted with amazement and enthusiasm,” said Judy Wallace, resident technology expert at Pilgrim Place. “Thanks to System Mechanic’s easy-to-use interface and automatic maintenance technology, the residents will be finally able to enjoy optimum PC performance and I look forward to having fewer technical support calls.”

Alexandria’s RPJ Housing is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that strengthens communities across Northern Virginia by preserving and developing decent, affordable housing to address the needs of limited-income individuals and families. In its 33 years of operation, RPJ Housing has provided millions of dollars worth of services, at no cost to the recipients, to communities across northern Virginia.

”At RPJ Housing, we have lots of old, sluggish computers that have greatly benefited from using iolo’s System Mechanic,” said Eric Bonetti, executive director at RPJ Housing. “A good set of utilities makes a huge difference to a small non-profit with no dedicated IT resources.”

“No household, business or community organization should have to put up with the frustrations, wasted time and lost money caused by slow computers,” said JJ Schoch, VP of marketing at iolo technologies. “We are excited iolo’s System Mechanic can return Pilgrim Place’s and RPJ Housing’s computers back to their optimal condition, helping the communities and these important non-profits that serve them.”

iolo technologies has been driving a wide-ranging ecologically conscious campaign since 2008 to lower the number of prematurely decommissioned computers, currently estimated at more than 100 million annually, 82 percent of which were discarded after only 30 months of use. Donations such as these help the recipients continue using their computers in optimal condition for longer, preventing their premature discarding and unnecessary e-waste. These two donations follow iolo’s donation of 1,300 copies of System Shield and Search and Recover to USO in July 2010 and 2,000 copies of System Mechanic and DriveScrubber to LA SHARES in May 2009.
