Tech Support for Antivirus

Protecting the integrity of your PC may be your responsibility, but that doesn’t mean you have to do it alone. As well as using specialized software and hardware to help secure your devices, some problems require the personalized technical support that only experts can provide. Helping with issues such as virus removal, hardware problems and even boosting your PC’s performance, having trained tech support on hand can save the day when you find yourself in need.

Read on to discover more about PC tech support services, and some of the ways in which our 24/7 LiveTech Support can help preserve your peace of mind.

What is PC Tech Support?

PC Tech Support is the customer service branch of protecting and maintaining your PC. Used in combination with antivirus software and other programs, tech support helps to solve the problems that can’t be fixed by day-to-day solutions. Specially-trained designated staff are on hand to talk you through any issues you may be facing with your PC – because unique problems often require unique solutions, and expert knowledge.

You can get support for issues with both hardware and software. Hardware support involves help with the physical components of your PC, such as CPU, storage, and memory. Software support focuses on issues related to apps, security software, and your operating system.

Support with Virus Removal

When it comes to antivirus support, having reliable access to tech support is crucial. This is because viruses are constantly evolving, making antivirus solutions imperfect and able to be outsmarted. If a virus has successfully infected your PC and your standard protection measures aren’t working to fix it, here are some ways you can seek additional support:

  • Contact your antivirus provider. Most antivirus solutions come with some form of support service listed in their features – such as our System Mechanic Ultimate Defense tool, which offers a 30 day trial of our 24/7 support service Live Tech. Expert advisers will be able to talk you through the process of scanning your PC and removing the virus.
  • FAQs and blogs: Simple solutions may already be listed in your antivirus provider’s FAQ page or blogs, providing detailed written instructions for how to remove viruses.
  • Forums and online communities. Chances are someone has already experienced the problem you’re dealing with. There are lots of dedicated tech support forums online where people talk through possible solutions in layman’s terms.

What is a Virus Removal Service?

Many providers will also offer a comprehensive virus removal service, allowing the experts to take the lead in ridding your computer of any viruses and limiting the chances of repeat infections. This will usually involve a thorough scan and analysis of your device, a comprehensive backup of your data, and a custom solution tailored to the unique issues your device is facing.

Not just limited to PCs, virus removal services can often also be carried out on cell phones and tablets – anything that can potentially be infected or hacked. More often than not this can be carried out remotely, allowing technicians to connect to your computer via the internet. This means that they can carry out their work without you needing to send your computer away or visit an on-site location.

Unfortunately, this ability to access your devices remotely is also exploited by scammers posing as tech support. Scammers may pose as your tech support providers in order to convince you to send them money to fix a problem (that likely doesn’t exist), and steal your sensitive information. These scammers may try to reach you by phone, via email, or through fake pop-ups alerting you to a nonexistent issue affecting your PC.

When in doubt about correspondence claiming to be from your antivirus support service, don’t follow links, call numbers, or send money or information. Instead, contact your support service directly.
