How to Upgrade from ByePass to ByePass+

This page provides instructions for upgrading your existing ByePass Password Manager data to ByePass+. We recommend performing this process at your earliest convenience to ensure continued service.

Moving from ByePass to ByePass+ is a four-step process:

Step 1 | Export your data from ByePass

Step 2 | Ensure you are on the latest version of System Mechanic Ultimate Defense

Step 3 | Install ByePass+ browser extension and create your account

Step 4 | Import your data into ByePass+

Step 1 | Export your data from ByePass

1. Open the ByePass extension from your browser.
   
   
   
2. Login to ByePass extension using your Master Password.
   
   
   
3. Click the ByePass menu (3 horizontal bars in top left).
   
   
   
4. Select Settings.
   
   
   
5. Scroll down to the Data section and click Export Data.
   
   
   
6. Select Export Format CSV, enter Master Password, click Export Data.
   
   
   
7. Your exported data file will be automatically saved to your Downloads folder.
   
   
   

Step 2 | Ensure you are on the latest version of System Mechanic Ultimate Defense
Prerequisite: To access the ByePass+ browser extensions via System Mechanic Ultimate Defense, you must be on software version 25.3.1 or higher.

1. Open the System Mechanic Ultimate Defense application on your PC.
   
   
   
2. Click the key icon in the upper right corner. The Product Information window displays the current software build.
   
   
   
3. If the current version is 25.3.1 or higher, proceed to the following steps:
   • Step 3 | Install ByePass+ browser extension and create your account
   • Step 4 | Import your data into ByePass+
     
4. To update to the latest software version, click the down arrow on the top right. Select “Check for updates”.
   
   
   
5. If an update is available, follow the popup update window as instructed.

Step 4 | Import your data into ByePass+

1. Login to ByePass+ from your browser.
   
   
   
2. Click Import Data.
   
   
   
3. Select ByePass from the Source drop down menu.
   
   
   
4. Click Choose File.
   
   
   
5. Navigate to your exported ByePass data file downloaded in Step 1.
   
   
   
6. Click Upload.
   
   
   
7. Click Yes to confirm import.
   
   
   
8. Click Sites to see your imported data.
